Didn't go quite as planned, but they still have a long shot to win.
And Boston is out. That's sort of a half-victory.
Let me be the first to thank Alex Rodriguez for grounding us out of the playoffs this year. I've never liked the trade for him. He will never live this down.
Meanwhile Derek Jeter remains the coolest Yankee presence since Don Mattingly.
Oh yes, that ground out will join that slapping the ball out of the hand incident from last years ALCS in A-Rod's All-Time Post Season Moments.
I was disappointed in the trade when it first happened, I was enjoying watching Soriano develop. But I do appreciate Rodriguez' for his skills, when he actually shows them. I was completely underwhelmed by most of his efforts this year (on the few games I saw on TV).
I'm hoping Cano survives this off-season. Will George do the right thing and keep and improve this guy?
Also agree with what you said about Jeter...he showed his true colors last night. There's a reason that he was made captain.
ARod has loads of natural talent, but I'd take Jeter's cool over ARod's talent any day.
Soriano was too much of a showboat for my taste. Cano seems more coachable. I just hope the errors can be chalked up to his being a rookie. Still and all, he's the best second baseman they have. George better not let him go.
