seriously? "all time best romance"? Not even sure I'd say it's the all time best Norah Ephron...but I will bow to the ladies on this one...what say ye, Bernice, Lucy, Scribbler, girlfriday, etc....is misty right?
OK, Hob, I don't agree with myself, just being dramatic. P&P is the "all time best romance".. hands down. But the way Sam talked about his wife was.... "magic". What woman doesn't dream of thier husband talking that way about them.. none I know. I don't know I prefer "Mixed Nuts" if we were to pick a Norah Ephron.
I have to say Sleepless in Seattle was lost on me. There were a few golden moments ("It's like a little clue." And the whole "Dirty Dozen" scene.) but I thought it was very mediocre. (Sorry Mist.) True romantic comedies? When Harry Met Sally, Kate & Leopold, Some Kind of Wonderful, come to mind. I'm sure I can come up with others. P&P is probably the granddaddy of them all.
And if you're looking for THE Hanks-Ryan romantic comedy, Joe Versus the Volcano is the overlooked master.
Again with Joe vs.? Girlfriday, you've got to get over that albatross around Tom Hanks neck. Bosom Buddies and Turner and Hooch were better for his career than that disaster. :)
I'm appaled, how could someone ruin the all time best romance..... and make it a horror movie.... this is outrageous.
ReplyDeleteI thought Sleepless in Seattle was already a horror flick (as all chick flicks are).
ReplyDeleteOkay, the cow bell was hilarious!!
ReplyDeleteYou've seen "The Shining" remix, right?
ReplyDeleteI gotta get myself a cowbell.
Ha... kletois! I guess in theory I agree... just can't help going back. I guess I am just that kind of chick. That was quite funny!

I've to agree with S&M, P&P is the best romance ever!!
ReplyDeleteSleepless in Seattle was pretty good, but..."You've got mail" was better.
the cow bell was still the best!

ReplyDeleteThere is no accounting for taste. Especially when it is bad.
